For years black diamonds were used to power the industrial revolution Derwent Walk was once one of the main lines used to transport coal from Crawleyside Bank to the Dunston Staithes on the river Tyne CoallineUltra is a 41.72 mile route based on this historic North East railway.
Running Circles invite you to take part in this 41.72 mile ultra on this historic trail. It’s quite simple, register and pick up your tracker from Pedalling Squares cafe early on race day and then set off from the cafe at 8am.

On the day
All participants will be taken round to the start of the Derwent Walk near Blaydon rugby club for a mass start.
Every runner will be tracked so friends and family can follow the action live at home are whilst sipping coffee if the cafe.
It’s an out and back race with the turnaround point being the cafe at the top of Crawleyside bank. Then it’s literally down hill all the way home.
Water points available on route plus you are welcome to have your own support crew
Bespoke CU1 medal, t-shirt, coffee and a pat on the back when you finish.
